  1. Re: Hiro
    Hiro’s character is ruined. I had to rewind to watch it to make sure he really did what he did.

    When a character is asked by the script to do something so far away from what has been established as their character up to now that you _pause the show_ the suspension of disbelief goes away. When you stop to say "I can’t believe they wrote that scene," the writers completely jerk you out of the moment.

    The Hiro I’ve watched for two seasons so far would NEVER EVER do that. His action has NO HONOR. He gives up everything he stands for in that moment. He ceased to be an interesting character at that point and has become a plot device.

    I think the writers have really lost the handle on this season. Last week many stated, and rightly so, that the writers seem to be recycling plot devices and storylines from season 1 and 2.

    C’mon, come up with something better than a time traveller finding out the future’s going to suck and then coming back and trying to save it from a nuclear explosion or virus/formula or what the hell, both!!

      Here’s what I want to see next week: we see this scene again, except Hiro stops time, pulls Ando into his frame, they talk it over, and whip up some fake blood packs…unfreeze time, fake Ando’s stabbing.

        I’m assuming this is what is going to happen. Or possibly he really did stab him, but plans to correct it in the future. Either way it’s going to strain the friendship those two have.

        I agree, there must be more to this than we were allowed to see tonight. Perhaps he went to the future and swapped out present Ando for Future Evil Ando, assuming he really was the evil one.

        I had a few other possible scenarios in my head last night, but none of them make as much sense upon further review as the writers pulling this simply to push people to watch next week as they explain what "really happened"…

        Exactly what I am figuring. But possibly this scene could be a reason Future Ando kills Future Hiro…and we now know how Ando could have gotten his power.

      I agree — there’s no honor. I am assuming there’s MUCH more to this than meets the eye, in which case the same thing might have happened in the future — Hiro just happened to witness it?

      I was disgusted by Hiro in this episode.

      We shall see.

        Maybe Hiro’s taking advantage of the fact that no one ever stays dead on this show.

          HAHAHAHAHAHA :)))

          He’s thinking "Ando, do not worry. These writers cannot kill anyone off, so I can even do this, and you will live."

          That’s it, the real plot is our heroes battling the show’s writers, à la http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewVrlNl3MyA&feature=related . And yes, this is my favorite Warner Brothers cartoon.

    • Re: So, uh.

      Who was the guy at the end?

      He was referred to as "Mr. Petrelli". Presumably Nathan and Peter’s dad and Angela’s husband, who supposedly died just before the events of Season 1.

        Arthur Petrelli (Robert Forster} does indeed appear in this episode.

      • Re: So, uh.

        That part I know – I just didn’t know if he’s Old Father Patrelly or like Peter Went To The Past And Is Old Now or something.

          Why would we?

  2. Mr Linderman…
    Tagging spoiler for obvious reasons…

    As soon as I saw the speedster talking to Linderman, the very first thing I thought was that Parkman’s dad was behind people seeing Linderman…turns out I was right. Obviously his dad figured out a way to get out of his mind prison.

    And I agree with what someone posted above…we are getting way overboard with people to keep track of, that some formerly major players are taking side roles…like Maya seems to be a completely different person this season than last.

  3. so long, Heroes
    * Hiro wouldn’t do what he did OR Ando isn’t really dead. Either way, the writers basically fed us a spoonful of sh*t.

    * "We are badasses."

    * Adam vs. the Bartender

    * Claire, even though she "read your file" goes after the one "villain" that can kill her.

    * Meredith going after that creepy guy WITH NO EXPLANATION, but obviously knowing how dangerous he was and still getting caught. Have we seen her do anything with her power, other than light cigarettes and burn down trailers (probably after doing the former), that would suggest she’s a formidable opponent?

    * Angela not being able to defend against her husband. Surely, if he means her harm now, they’ve sparred before.

    * Mr. Petrelli and/or Angela know how to kill Peter, but Mr. Petrelli’s gang–who we now know are the same ones after Peter in the future–have a hard time doing so.

    * Maya is an idiot.

    And, with that, Heroes is gone from my DVR.

      <golf clap>

      I do believe I will join you in not watching Heroes anymore. I wanted to be excited when Bubbles (any Wire fans out there?) showed up, and his power was interesting, but the episode was just boring. Even stuff that should be exciting/suspenseful is just yawn-inducing thanks to the time traveling and regenerating, and I’m sure cloning is right around the corner…

      Goodbye Heroes. I hope you continue to have decent ratings, if only to continue generating interest in making other genre shows.

        Indeed – and Marlo Stansfield has been around for a while as well.

          From the AV Club review:

          I just want a decent show about people with superpowers, where the characters ring with some semblance of truth and the plot occasionally keeps me guessing. And every once in a while, I want to see Marlo Stanfield punch through someone.

          It could be said no better.

      So, she’s stupid just like her daughter – that’s good writing that is!

      Welcome to the Heroes sidelines…

      I’ve kept a spot open for ya.

      Please scoot all the way to the right. There’s probably going to be quite a few people joining us.

        :)

        Bunch up, bunch up! There’s going to be a lot of us. That action of Hiro’s cannot be explained within his character. It’s hard enough to follow Noah’s thought processes (plan, what plan?) on an episode-to-episode basis let alone having crud like this added. Although I can now see future-Ando’s justification for his actions assuming he survives!
