This one slipped in under the radar. The Tophet Campaign and The Hydora Campaign are the second and third DVD from the TV show. The first, The Pluto Campaign was released March 13 of last year.
I’m gonna try and snag me all three and get a formal review up. Any other readers seen them and want to let us know what you thought?
Roughnecks DVD’s
I should also point out that the Tesca Campaign was released last fall (the 4th arc in the story — it was voted as the favorite by people or something, so instead of being sane and releasing them in order Sony mixed them up…)
At this point the following are available or soon-to-be-available then:
1. Pluto
2. Hydora (avail. end of Feb)
3. Tophet (avail. end of Feb)
4. Tesca Nemerosa
that leaves… arcs 5 and 6 to go. Here’s hoping they complete the 6th arc before releasing it on DVD.
Roughnecks really was a good, under-appreciated and under-publicized show, and is more proof that a good core, loyal following can make things happen to keep it alive.
Now that we get “Sole Survivor” from Roughnecks finally, if we could only start getting Space: Above and Beyond and “Angry Angel” on DVD’s…

Re: Roughnecks DVD’s
Thanks for the correction. My local Blockbuster doesn’t carry them (then again they also seem to be getting only full-screen films and not widescreen), but I am planning on heading over to NetFlix which does.
Re: Roughnecks DVD’s
The Tesca arc was released out of order *because* of the popularity of the arc. The Pluto arc, released with the bare minumum of extra goodies on the DVD, was a surprise hit, and gave Sony a little more comfort to add a few more goodies for Tesca.
With Hydora and Tophet, there are three extra tracks: the original series, commentaries by the animators, commentaries by the actors, and commentaries by the directors. Not to mention other goodies.
I won’t assume that Klendathu and Earth will also be released on DVD, but here’s hoping.
And yes, it would be very nice if S:AAB would also be released on DVD, but with goodies on the things right out the gate. Get the Farscape-DVD treatment.
