  1. Magical Prophesies!
I really, really hope they don’t make anyone start having prophetic dreams in this show. This show has plenty of unbelievable aspects, but there has been no element of magic, and adding prophetic dreams would hint at that and ruin the tone of the show, if you ask me.

What if they are being caused by timeline changes? Isn’t it similar to Sarah’s dream in Terminator 2?

(I don’t watch the show btw *cough* )

Magical Prophesy? More like Sarah’s unconscious chewing on something until she acknowledges it. Happens all the time. She had seen the three dots before, her brain was just connecting them to something else, no hoodoo involved.

You’re worried about ‘fantastical prophecies’ ruining the tone of a show about genocidal artificially intelligent time traveling robots? Really?

      Really?

Is that turtle discussion a nod to Blade Runner?

It very much was a nod to Blade Runner, and also a nod to a bit from Terminator 2 that seems to have been glossed over otherwise. Terminators can become independently motivated and continue to develop as ‘persons’, which is something that Skynet tries to prevent. Perhaps the damage to Cameron’s CPU is serving the same purpose.

I’m curious if the writers will explore a possible cyborg faction that develops that thinks it can live with humanity if Skynet were stopped. I’ve always wondered why Shirley Manson’s T-1000 was tasked to recreate Skynet in the past but didn’t have schematics for the old terminators or Skynet.

Do we know she’s been "tasked" with that? I thought we were still uncertain what she was doing and for whom she was doing it. Obviously, yes, she’s a T-1000(ish) Terminator, but I had developed the impression that she might be serving a third agenda.

  2. I love this show’s style …
The directing style, the cinematics, and the writing all give it a different feel from anything else I’ve seen on TV lately. One and a half seasons in I am impressed that they have kept some of the feel from the movies, expanded the mythos, and managed to find some decent actors to fill the characters’ shoes.

I was leery of their choice for Sarah. Lena Heady has done a wonderful job of fleshing out a character that is deeper than Linda Hamilton’s take.

Summer Glau is Summer Glau. I have no criticism of Cameron.

I wasn’t too sure about Reese at first, and right now I want to kick the character in the nads, but the actor who plays him does a decent job.

Stephanie Jacobsen as Jessie is an interesting variable.

My biggest worry continues to be Thomas Dekker as John Connor. It’s not that I don’t believe the actor is up to the part, I just keep hoping that the writers don’t turn John Connor into another whining Anakin Skywalker. Unfortunately I think the actor is more than capable of giving us whiny angst in place of the introspection of a young adult.

    More of the latter, please.

I like Shirly Manson’s Catherine Weaver. She’s slick, slimy, and frigid in an Anne Robinson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Robinson sort of way.

I’m grateful FOX has filled their order for the completion of this season. If the show is cancelled, maybe they’ll allow the writers time to wrap the series in a way that sets the stage for T-4.
