The Petrelli Brothers face each other as a group continues on its Hiro-ic rescue mission and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Comments? Reviews? And do we want to start discussions of Big Bang Theory, since a lot of people ’round here watch that on Monday nights?

  1. Did I miss something?
Wasn’t Sylar in NY last week at Arthur’s company? How is he in Texas at Primatech this week?

Primatech had a big mansion in upstate New York – that’s where Golden Bob was based.

But weren’t the holding cells in TX or both places??

Before he went there, Hiro had teleported him and Elle to Costa Rica! He had no idea where Hiro had put him, so how did he ever get back to NY?

Did he ever get some sort of travel power from someone?

IIRC, the caption for the scene on the beach with Sylar and Elle was "Costa Verde" not Costa Rica.

Besides the characters jetting back and forth from coast to coast with ease, I will say that time seems to pass strangely in the Heroes universe in seasons 2 and 3. In season one, there was a definite sense of the days passing up to the election. I can’t tell if there were days, weeks or months covered in s2/s3, and with so many characters I imagine some (e.g. Meredith) sitting around twiddling their thumbs until the Plot needs them again.

  2. Season 1 tie-in
It seems like now a version of the future we saw in Season 1 is coming to pass…the President’s office hunting down the people with special powers. I wonder what happens when the President is told that Nathan can fly?

Also, please don’t tell me I am the only one to notice the nod to Obama? Nathan was talking to a black president :)

Better yet, did you see who it was?

        Worf baby! (Michael Dorn)

OK, pull my geek card…I was trying to figure out why the actor looked familiar.

That’s a good point, but remember in that flashback from season 1, no one knew Nathan could fly. And it wasn’t Nathan, it was Sylar. As I’ve been telling my fellow Heroes fans for weeks, if they can work it so that the whole "save the cheerleader, save the world" from season 1 wasn’t isolated to that event/season but have it part of a larger event yet to happen (and yet to be stopped), then oh boy. It’s been disappointing to think these threats to the world aren’t related at all. But if there is still a larger event still set to happen, it could be amazing. They’ve impressed me with these last two episodes though. Hopefully their back on track.

I was glad to have Hiro back to his old self, and apparently from this episode really taking his destiny seriously. He seemed very grown up and not like a man child. Finally!

        Isn’t he powerless?

For now but there’s still bits of the formula floating around and if there’s some residual ability Ando might be able to give him a boost. They may play with powerless Hiro/Powered Ando for a while but Ando’s power needs another hero to work.

  3. Explanation for…
The appearance of the future painting African guy at the end? In NY no less! I’m pretty sure he was dead.

  4. Too many holes.
Since when is Clair able to jump through a sheet of bullet proof glass that a bullet wasn’t able to make it through?

Why didn’t Clairs bio-mom just melt the glass?

Did anybody notice that after Hiro returned to the present (care of Speedy) he was able to speak English, an knew/remember to call her Nemesis?

I saw Micheal Dorn in the credits, but must have missed that scene where he was on camera. Where/when was it?

    • Re: Too many holes.

Since when is Clair able to jump through a sheet of bullet proof glass that a bullet wasn’t able to make it through?

Since it became convenient for her to do so.

Why didn’t Clairs bio-mom just melt the glass?

But if she did that, how would she be able to burn the building down?

Did anybody notice that after Hiro returned to the present (care of Speedy) he was able to speak English, an knew/remember to call her Nemesis?

His mother healed his mind last episode, which healed his memory (ala Peter in season 2).

I saw Micheal Dorn in the credits, but must have missed that scene where he was on camera. Where/when was it?

Michael Dorn played the President of the United States, and was sitting in the limo with Senator Petrelli during the preview for Volume 4.

Hiro’s mom was a healer, and healed him in the previous ep before she gave him the catalyst.

The last two minutes or so of the intro to the next group of episodes. In the stretch limo with Nathan. You hear him more than you see him.

Due to the bullet and heat weakening the glass enough.

Why didn’t Claire’s bio-mom just melt the glass?

I would think the Company would have made the "glass" have a much higher melting point to help keep fire throwing specials imprisoned.

I think it was…the idiot blue fire throwing guy from level 5 back in the beginning of the season was unable to burn through it. Claire’s mom was also running on the adrenaline Sylar pumped into her, so I am guessing her power was amplified and she was able to weaken the glass enough for Noah to crack it and then Claire to jumpe through it.
