Star Wars trailer hits TV next week

On March 10, the fourth Star Wars trailer (titled
“Clone Wars”) will premier on Fox between
Malcolm in the Middle and The
X-Files
. The Fox feed I get will be
simulcast with a local Global which may not have
the trailer, so I guess I’ll depend on a
description from you readers to get me by until
it hits online.

  1. Ice Age
The trailer will also be available before showings of Fox’s new CG-Animated film, Ice Age (which looks like a lot of fun without the enticement).

  2. Trailers to Benefit Children’s Charities

Lucasfilm has announced that there will several showings that benefit local charities.

If you’re living in one of the cities listed below, go forth and drool…and help the kids too!

Showings are scheduled for the following cities: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Philidelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington DC. The local charities are listed in the LucasFilm press release

This is excellent news. Not only does that mean that the charities will benefit, but it means that Fox has enough faith in the picture to allow advanced screenings, thus implying that they expect positive word of mouth. (Advance screenings and private bookings of Episode I were not permitted, according to the then-manager of the theater I used to work at.)
