Fringe Discussion: “The Transformation”

After a were-porcupine causes a plane to crash, Agent Olivia Dunham must recover some borrowed memories so that the FBI can take down a band of bioterrorists.

Did I get that right? And did Anna Torv, usually a weak link in the series, rise to the occasion for this Dunham-centered episode?

    You got it right.

Torv’s acting is definitely a lot less wooden in these new episodes than she was before the hiatus. I’m wondering if JJ told her to be a little looser in the way she acts.

Also, the best part of this episode was twofold: 1) the bio terrorists didn’t appear to have a link to a Walter experiment and 2) his antidote for the virus failed miserably. It’s good to see the show becoming less about his experiments and more about weird science in the world.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that she, and the actor who plays John Scott, got married last month.

…the best part of this episode

his antidote for the virus failed miserably.

      .

Not to pick a fight, but there is a big difference between "worked temporarily, but wasn’t permanent on the first attempt" and "failed miserably"

though I have no idea why I felt compelled to defend Walter… I guess that whackie guy is growing on me.

Walter is just about my favorite part of the show.

        :)
