While we’re talking about Marvel comic to movie
adaptations, we might as well mention
Daredevil. The official press release
from 20th Century Fox is available on
Ain’t It Cool News. I have to say, with a
January release date planned, it doesn’t sound
promising. Add to that the writer and director
who has never handled this sort of movie before
(although he has done good work in other genres)
and Ben Affleck as Daredevil, and I’m not sure
what to think. I like the idea of Jennifer
Garner as Elektra and Michael Clark Duncan as the
Kingpin, but I’m really not sure about the
project as a whole.

Well, I Like Ben, So I’m Willing To Just Trust On This One, But I Do Have A Feeling It’s Going To Be A ‘B’ Movie That Only A Select Few Like. I Don’t Want To Say Cult Hit, Because I Don’t Think It Will Be. I’m Thinking A hit To The Effect Of ‘Earth Girls Are Easy’. Lots Of People Like It, But No One Is Going To Claim It Should have Won An Oscar.

Might be cool. Given the basic idea behind the Daredevil comic, I expect lots and lots of wild-assed stunts. Who cares about the story, this movie should be a visual feast that can only be enjoyed on the big screen!

Could be Good?
I’ve done some poking around online, and I’ve only found three people who are truly excited about this project. Three people doesn’t sound like much, but when they’re the only three people commenting on the project who’ve read the script, it gives me hope. The frist two are AICN’s Harry Knowles and Moriarty. The third is View Askew’s Kevin Smith. Remember, Kevin Smith not only wrote for the comic book, but he turned it into a top ten selling title. These three know the property, and they like what’s happening to it. I’ll take this as a good sign.

Whoever says Ben Affleck isnt a good daredevil should shut up people online are too busy bashing films that they know nothing about. As for another person who states that Kevin smith hasnt done a movie like this before what can happen. There not thinking straight who would be a better director for daredevil then Kevin Smith Himself he wrote daredevil for crying out loud. I think this movie is gonna be a masterpiece and every thing kevin smith has done is great he’s taken low budgit movies and made them better then half the 100 million dollar movies that were made and Ben affleck can play any role i just hope to see Jason Mewes and Jason Lee in there somewhere.

Steven Johnson is. Kevin Smith was given a brief
cameo. Kevin Smith has no creative control, but he
does know what he’s talking about, and he’s excited
about what MSJ is doing with it, so I’ll try to keep
an open mind.

shit i just figured that out i feel pretty fuckign stupid i went to some fucking goofball site that was stating him as the director and i havent heard of anyone else directing it so i figuerd its a shame though who would do daredevil better than kevin smith i dont think anyone could and i think that it should be him that directs it
