Weekly Comics Discussion – May 13, 2009

As usual, the complete list is available here.

Dark Horse Comics

  • STAR WARS CLONE WARS (OF 6)
  • UMBRELLA ACADEMY DALLAS (OF 6)

DC Comics

  • ACTION COMICS #877
  • BOOSTER GOLD #20
  • FABLES #84
  • FINAL CRISIS AFTERMATH ESCAPE #1 (OF 6)
  • GREEN LANTERN CORPS #36 – “Emerald Eclipse” continues
  • SECRET SIX #9
  • SHOWCASE PRESENTS MARTIAN MANHUNTER TP VOL 02
  • TRINITY #50
  • UNWRITTEN #1

Dynamite Entertainment

  • BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FINAL FIVE #2 (OF 4)

IDW Comics

  • ANGEL NOT FADE AWAY #1
  • GI JOE COBRA #3
  • STAR TREK MISSIONS END #3

Image Comics

  • SAVAGE DRAGON #148
  • WALKING DEAD #61

Marvel Comics

  • ALL NEW SAVAGE SHE-HULK #2 (OF 4) – Dark Reign
  • AVENGERS INITIATIVE TP VOL 03 – This was easily my favourite Secret Invasion tie-in
  • BLACK PANTHER 2 #4 – Dark Reign
  • DARK REIGN HAWKEYE #2 (OF 5)
  • DARK REIGN YOUNG AVENGERS #1 (OF 5)
  • DEADPOOL SUICIDE KINGS #2 (OF 5)
  • INCOGNITO MUST HAVE – Collecting the first two issues of this amazing series.
  • LOCKJAW AND THE PET AVENGERS #1 (OF 4)
  • SECRET WARRIORS #4 – This is one of the best series with the Dark Reign branding. So far, we’ve hit three major cliffhangers at the end of three issues, and this is all a part of Jonathan Hickman’s 60 issue plan for the title.
  • SECRET WARS II OMNIBUS
  • THOR TALES OF ASGARD BY LEE & KIRBY #1 (OF 6) – Reprinting the backup stories from “Journey Into Mystery.”
  • ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #132 – Ultimatum tie-in.
  • WAR OF KINGS ASCENSION #2 (OF 4) – War of Kings
  • WOLVERINE #73 – No, you didn’t miss #72. They are being published out of order, so #72 (conclusion to “Old Man Logan”) can hit with a double sized issue with the same creative team, but #73 can fill some of the demand caused by the movie. #73 is a two part two parter (not a typo; two stories, both continued) that wraps in #74.
  • WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ (OF 8)

  1. A title not on the diamond list that also came out this week: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century (#1 of 3). By Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill.
