The 56th Hugo Awards went out tonight in Montreal. Julie Czerneda once again proved herself SF’s most whimsically charming host, the good twin of Delerium from Sandman, grounded and lacking in malice. And speaking of Hugo winners….

I called best novel and best dramatic, long form, but I was off on novelette (though I enjoyed the winner) and short story (the reclusive Chiang, I have discovered, has a very strong fan following).
There was a time when I had three-year subscriptions to Astounding and Analog and bought the Hugo winners on spec ……. sigh :)
I therefore enjoy very much your reviews – keep up the good work.
Ted Chiang, Nancy Kress, Neil Gaiman, John Scalzi & Elizabeth Bear are all old favourites.
Thanks!
I’ll have a video with annotations up later this week.
Five minutes ago, I got to hold Scalzi’s Hugo in the elevator.
(No rude jokes, please!)
Awww. You’re no fun!
That’s not what Scalzi said!
Back to topic – did Gaiman swear again when he got this Hugo?
No, but he did say, “must not swear.”
He did on twitter.
