Help Shows come to DVD

The company that produced the Web-only DVDs of
My So-Called Life has just partnered
with TV
Shows On DVD
. They’re planning on using
criteria like the number of requests a show gets
for a DVD release to decide which shows they’re
going to produce DVD releases for. There’s more
info in the press release on that site, but for
now, I think we know have a very good way to
promote releases of Babylon 5,
American Gothic, and all those other
shows with a small but dedicated audience.

  1. help shows?
for second i thought you were posting about dvds of “this old house” and “trading spaces” :P

i’d jump on babylon 5 dvds in a heartbeat, but they hafta be decent quality, another bad transfer to dvd would suck.

Heh, I thought the same thing. Instead of those “Time-Life DIY” books, you’d get another episode of “Hometime” each month…

As for B5, IIRC, the studio is already planning to do the rest of the B5 series; let’s just hope they do it justice.

I’ve exchanged e-mail with the guy
that runs the site. It seems they’re most interested
in shows that will sell to a market of 2,000-10,000.
That leaves B5 out, but American Gothic is still in
        the running.

Does Anyone Else Remember MTV’s Run Of ‘Dead at 21’? If So, Did Anyone Else Like It? I’d Love To See That Show Finished, Or Even Just See That Show Again.

  2. American Gothic DVDs
Well it looks good for AG DVDs – the petition http://www.ourdramaqueen.com/ag/dvdpetition/dvdpetition.htm has been signed by over 1000 Gothniks, and is getting more signatures daily. Plus when I asked AnotherUniverse.com, which released My So-Called Life, I was told that yes, they’re interested in AG! :-) There seem to be some rights issues to be resolved at Universal at the moment, but the people at AU are keeping an eye on it. So keep holding your thumbs!
