Spider-Man makes a record or two

This is unbelievable. Those of you who read Slashdot might
have seen that Spider-Man did well at
the box office, as reported here.
If you didn’t click on the article you might not
know how well. It grossed an estimated $114
million in the first three days. To put that in
perspective, the previous record for a three day
opening was Harry Potter, with $90.2.
The second highest grossing film in the box
office this weekend was The Scorpion
King
with $9.6 million. I’ve seen gaps
between first and second place before, but the
first place film took in almost twelve times what
the second place film took in. I’m very
interested in seeing what the numbers for the
Attack of the Clones opening weekend
will be like.

  1. I’m going to have a hard choice to make…
I don’t know if I’m going to see Star Wars its opening weekend. I get to see it this comming tuesday at a press screening and I’m not sure if it will be worth braving the crowds just to see the Matrix 2 trailer. I would like to see SW break Spider-Man’s record, but is it worth it?

I suppose you’ll know after you see it
on Tuesday. Be sure to let us know how it is. :)

      plan ahead.

buy tickets ahead of time, go to a mid-afternoon showing (2-4 preferably).
