Attack of the Clones tickets on sale

Tickets for Attack of the Clones went on
sale yesterday in my area. That means that
anyone in a decent urban center should have a
local theater that is selling tickets now.

  1. strange…
Australia has had AOTC tickets on sale for about 2 weeks now…

I wonder why the US waited until now.

Incidentally, we bought 8 tickets on the weekend (about 1.5 weeks after tickets went on sale) & were told that we could have any session we liked, including the 12:01 session!

I fully expected the film to be more popular than that…

I’m in Canada, but it’s probably for
the same reasons. For one, there was talk that some
bigwig at Fox was going to try leverage, and tell
exhibitors that they wouldn’t get Episode 2 if they
      ran Spider-Man. (That’s a rumour that I cannot
confirm.) Another rumour was that they were planning
on limiting the number of tickets they could sell to
one individual to avoid scalping problems, but I’m not
aware of how that would work, or of any theater that
      has done so.

When The Phantom Menace came out, the large theaters here (in the Denver, CO area) had 12:01AM, 1AM, 3AM, and 4AM shows on the first day. This time, it’s only a 12:01AM showing.

I think the theaters are expecting less people because TPM was somewhat of a letdown for diehard fans. In the RASSM newsgroup, for example, there are a few posts from people who are wondering if it’s worth the effort to see AOTC early. This attitude was non-existent prior to the release of TPM.

If they are thinking about waiting to see it, they shouldn’t. I just saw it today and it was good. Right now I am writing up a review for this fine site, but the short of it, thrid best Star Wars movie made. Far and away better than Ep. 1. Look forward to my full review.
