Buffy ending for real?

As many of you know, Joss Whedon hates unfinished
stories, so he plots every season of Buffy and
Angel as though it were the last. Well,
according to this
article
, Nicholas Brendon says that the
seventh season of Buffy, which airs on UPN
starting in September, will be the last. The
reasons he gives sound pretty sensible, and very
believable.

  1. Damn.
Well, I Can’t Say I Didn’t See It Coming. It Was A Great Show, But Letting It Run Forever Would Have Ruined It.

On A Side Not, Look At That Picture And Tell Me That Nick Doesn’t Look More Like Peter Parker Than Toby Did. I Hope Whatever Roll Nick Takes Next Is A Super Hero Of Some Kind, He’d do So Well With It.

Now that you mention it, I think he’d
have made a great Bruce Banner. I could settle for
him playing Havok in some X-Men sequel, though.

  2. perhaps…
Repeat after me: “Joss didn’t say it. Joss didn’t say it…”

This is not to say I wildly disbelieve this, after all it’s been a long, (mostly) good run for the show, and I’m sure the actors (and, obviously, Joss) would like to move on to other things. But those of us who followed The X-Files for so long learned that if the auteur or the network didn’t say it, it ain’t necessarily so…

    R.I.P. Tara Maclay *sniff* :-(

You’re Very Right, But A Few Things Joss Did Say:

After’s Buffy’s Death, She Would Returns A Zombie Who Ate Brains.

Reily Would Return Also, As A Brain In A Jar. Buffy Eats Him.

Joss Likes To Spread False Stories, Very Often. This One Smacks Of Truth, However. It Makes Sense For How The Contracts Have Been Running.

That, However Doesn’t. I’m Sure There Will Be More Tara.

Why? Well, Amber Benson’s Been Saying Carefully Worded Goodbyes. (‘Buffy’s Always Been Great To Me’ Doesn’t Mean She’s Not Continuing Work On It.) And Also, Someone Hunted Down And Asked Her Mother If Amber Benson Was On Buffy Next Season, And Apparently Her Mom Gave A Hushed Yes as A Reply. (Some Message Board I Read).

That and I Love That Character, So I’m staying Hopeful.
