A surprisingly short list this week. That doesn’t mean you can’t find the good stuff if you know where to look, though.
First, the DVD picks:
- Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas / A Flintstones Christmas Carol
- Ben 10 Alien Swarm
- Best Foreign Language Film Collection: Includes “Indochine,” “Burnt by the Sun,” “Character,” “All About My Mother,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Nowhere in Africa,” “The Lives of Others” and “The Counterfeiters.”
- Better Off Ted: Season One
- Le Chevalier d’Eon: Complete Collection, Veredian Collection
- A Christmas Tale (Criterion Collection)
- Code Geass, Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, Part 2 with or without kitch.
- Death Warrior
- The Donna Reed Show: Season Three
- Frat Party
- The Frog Prince: Blaine: The company releasing this has a LONG history of rushing out product based on the same source material as the latest North America theatrical animated blockbuster. Disney has NOTHING to do with this thing.
- Gunslinger Girl, Il Treatino
- Harry Potter: Wizarding World DVD Game: Prelude to the latest movie’s release next week
- Hayate the Combat Butler, Part 3
- Hunter x Hunter, Vol. 4
- Mental: Complete First Season
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Choo-Choo Express
- Mobile Suit Gundam Season 1, Part 3 with or without kitch.
- Mystery Science Theatre 3000: Volume XVI Limited Edition: Includes “The Corpse Vanishes,” “Warrior of the Lost World,” “Santa Claus” and “Night of the Blood Beast.”
- Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (Two Disc Monkey Mischief Pack)
- Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

- WWE: The History of the World Heavyweight Championship
- The Year Without a Santa Claus / Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish
Now, the Blu-Ray picks:
- Ben 10: Alien Swarm
- A Christmas Tale (Criterion Collection)
- Death Warrior
- The Green Mile
- Gremlins
- Legend of Zorro and Mask of Zorro
- Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
- The Mask of Zorro
- Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian: Blaine: As with a lot of family Blu-Ray product, this also includes a DVD version. If you plan to upgrade, but haven’t yet, you’d already have the high def in your collection.
- Paper Heart
- The Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter: Alex: The Criterion Collection release of the Rockumentary about the infamous Altamont Free Concert.
- Snatch
- Terminator: Salvation (Director’s Cut)
- The Wizard of Oz: Three Disc Emerald Edition: Blaine: Note that this release has no picture and is a few weeks later than other releases. I’m almost certain this one is an error.
Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels is my Blu-Ray pick of the week. On DVD, if you’ve been following Hayate the Combat Butler, I’d reccomend picking up volume 3 of that.” Blaine says, “I’d go with Snatch on Blu-Ray if you can play it. If you don’t have Blu-Ray, either grab the Foreign Language Film Collection or hold off for a couple of major titles due next week.”
