“Buffy” Buffy-less in Season Eight?

According to Marti Noxon, as quoted in this
Sci-Fi Wire article
, there is a chance that there
will be an eighth season of Buffy: The Vampire
Slayer
without Sarah Michelle Gellar. If that
happens, I’m sure it’ll be the final season. The
X-Files
had two productive years without Mulder,
but then again, that show has never been called
The Mulder Files.

  1. Stick a fork in it….
Tara dead, so no more romance with Willow if she survives next season….

    No Buffy…..

Xander alone, possibly with Anya if they get back together…..

Okay, I know the show moved to UPN, home of beating a franchise to death, but c’mon, let it go gracefully and triumphant into it’s grave. I don’t want to see BuffyTNG or Slayer (With new crappy lyrics added to the theme song) or whatever other crap they can think up.

Actually, Tara’s Dead, But Amber Benson Will Return, According To Joss.

      No Buffy…..

She Was Always The Weakest Character, If You ask Me.

I’ve Been Watching The Season 2 DVD, And It Reminds Me Just How Nice A Couple That Willow And Xander Made.

Actually, I Was Just Commenting That A “BUFFY TNG” Might Be Neet, With All The Main Characters Gone, Save Willow (Obviously My Favorite). She’s Now A Watcher, And Working With The Slayer From 30 Years In The Future. Everyone Else Is Off The Show, With Maybe The Occasional Vamp-That-Got-Away, Or Repeat Demon From Buffy.

I’ve been thinking about how that could be
done too. I was thinking more along the lines of Buffy
dying and staying dead, only to find that Dawn, who was
made from Buffy herself, becomes a Slayer. (I think that
will require the death of Faith, though. Joss has said
that Buffy’s second death didn’t create a new Slayer.) I
hadn’t thought about the future aspect though. As much as
I like Willow, I’d rather see Spike as the next Watcher,
        just for the twist.

  2. Let it end for goodness sakes
I love Buffy and think it’s one of the finest shows on TV. But it’s time for it to bow out gracefully. I’d like to see it end this season with Buffy dying, Dawn ceasing to exsit, and Faith taking over the role of Slayer(they need to get her out of jail). If they want to do another show, then I do like the Idea of Willow as watcher over another slayer sometime in the future.

    • Must it end?
Buffy is my favorite show on television. I think it’s by
far the best ever. However, I don’t think Buffy should die
AGAIN. She needs to be able to leave her life as a slayer
behind and have a happy life (maybe with Spike?). I would
love it if Sarah Michelle Gellar could stay on, but she
probably won’t. I totally agree though that Dawn needs to
be no more. I can’t stand her and I would hate it if they
made Dawn the star of the show. I do think that Faith
taking over is a great idea. I love the show so much, I
don’t want it to end, but I know it must some day. Just not
      some

I’d be happy if the season ended with Buffy and Dawn leaving Sunnydale and starting a new Watcher’s Council, while Willow stuck around to act as Watcher to Kennedy: The Vampire Slayer.
