Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring Extended DVD release date

We finally have something more firm than “coming in
November” for the special extended DVD edition of
Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.
If you look in the Amazon.com coming soon area, you’ll
find both four DVD editions out there and scheduled
for release November 12. The cover art is there, as
well as prices ($40 and $80, on sale for $30 and $60.)

  1. Boy they’re determined to make me wait
    Ah well, somehow or other I’ll hang on till November and get the expensive version.

    Perhaps I’ll rent the version that comes out in August to ward off the cravings. ;)

  2. Release Dates posed a while ago
    WB publishes releases on Tuesdays, IIRC, and so may New Line, so I noticed the 12 Nov on http://www.dvdpricesearch.com a while ago but must appologize for not reporting it here.

    Interestingly, in the U.K. (R2) they listed ALL versions about the same time, rather than making us wait as they did here, on most on-line brokers, and in fact the packaging seems more or less the same across the Atlantic, along with the expected release dates. For instance, check out http://www.blackstar.co.uk...

    6 Nov for “Cinema” version 2 Disc;
    12 Nov for “Director’s Cut” 4 Disc — same features as U.S.;
    12 Nov for “Collector’s Edit” 4 Disc + Trinkets/Collector’s Items;

    Now my friend and I hoped for a 6-Disc release with original Theatrical, ~230 Director’s Cut and the rest, but it turns out that Collector’s Edition is just a Farscape Season 3 Box Set Deluxe type play for cash: package the film with some kitchy statues or such and sell it for twice the price! *Sigh*
