“Lone Gunmen” Ahead of its Time?

In what is being called the greatest case of mass amnesia, Sci Fi Wire points out that the pilot episode of "Lone Gunmen" foreshadows, pretty specifically, the 9/11 attacks on the WTC buildings.

I watched the pilot and completely forgot about it! I wonder if we will ever see the show in reruns now?

  1. Hmm…
It says something about TLG that they potrayed the most tramatic event in recent memory in a quite immemorable way…or maybe it says somehting about people in that they ignore fiction as fiction when appropriate….or maybe it says Osama watches Fox.

Don’t forget that the episode was
written, filmed, and aired months before the actual
disaster. At the time, it was just another TV plot. My
      original review and
      synopsis
gives some indication about the content and
timelines. The summary also shows you how late that plot
point was introduced, and how small it actually was
      overall.

  2. Why can’t anything…
….just be coincidence anymore? Honestly, that episode wasn’t “forshadowing” anything. Although I will admit it is suprising the media wasn’t all over it initially.

It sound more to me like someone’s trying to drum up some interest in a Lone Gunman “Season” DVD release.

As much as I’d like to see that, I suspect
it’s more of a case of someone at TV Guide (which started
this whole thing) finally making the connection, and
writing about it on a slow news day.

  3. That ep was my first thought…..
…as I walked into Pre-Calc that morning to see a replay of the plane hitting the second tower. I even mentioned that fact to a few friends who I’d knew watched the show, and they pretty much had an “Oh yeah!” sort of reaction.
