Ender’s Game on the shelf

Hoggoth writes, This article on Yahoo reports that filmmaker Wolfgang Peterson has stopped work on the Ender’s Game movie in order to work on ‘Superman vs. Batman’.

The quote:
Petersen says he will temporarily shelve his other Warners projects–the epic Trojan War and an adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s sci-fi novels Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow–and will begin working on Superman vs. Batman.

More information on both projects is available from this Ain’t It Cool News article.

  1. Geeez
He must not believe in the movie very much, which makes me wonder if it’ll suck.
Superman vs Batman might be a good idea, but it doesn’t sound extremely catching to me. Sounds like a plan to catch some of the superhero money flying around lately.

    Now hopefully they’ll forger to un-shelve it…

By the way, why exactly are Superman and Batman be fighting?

I don’t know. The project was originally
called Batman and Superman. This is the only
press release I’ve seen that calls it otherwise. Now,
Wolfgang Peterson is calling it a clash of the titans. I
suspect they’ll be fighting for the same reasons Daredevil
and Punisher tend to fight; they have common goals, but
      drastically different methods.

Well, if they are following the same storyline as graphic novels “The Dark Knight Returns” (by Frank Miller) – it’ll be very dark, future-based storyline, where Batman has had enough of Superman’s nice guy routine… and basically plots to kill him off.

But hardly worth jumping on the superhero bandwagon and abandon Ender’s Game.

By the way, why exactly are Superman and Batman be
        fighting?
