Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “Traffic was one of the more level headed and even views of the war on drugs, and very well made.” Alex says, “We’ve got a couple good 90s action thrillers coming out on Blu-Ray this week with The Jackal and Tombstone. However, as I have to choose, I’m picking Tombstone. Yes, we’ve got the Blu-Ray of the Dune film as well, but to be honest I liked the Sci-Fi channel miniseries more.”

One reply

  1. Hell yes with Tombstone. One of my favorite westerns.

I’ll agree with your statement that the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries was better…or more complete, but David Lynch truly captured the Harkonnens, whereas the miniseries made them laughable and weak. I’d love to see a capable director take a stab at this property again as a miniseries. Maybe HBO/Showtime so it doesn’t have to wimp out. Just sending it out there.

And a suggestion for movies (like Pride and Prejudice) that have multiple versions of the same title. Do what IMDB does and put the year after the title in parentheses.
