Something tells me this will be as bad as the one we saw in the cartoon. I think I actually miss the days when theatre was an elitest venue, not swill for the masses.

well, hopefully it will be more like phantom or don giovanni, something nice and dark, rather than sunset boulevard (which was how it was in the cartoon, a total farce).

  2. Batman… and Robin?
The blurb says that this is a musical of the 1989 Batman, but they also say that the cast will include Batman, Robin, Catwoman, and the Joker. IIRC, Neither Robin nor Catwoman were in the 1989 Batman, so which is it?

      so which is it?

Burton’s notoriously confused on the subject. One of my favorite exchanges involved some nasty statements that started with Kevin Smith tearing into Burton for his alledged rip-off of a comic book treatment Smith did for Planet of the Apes (ie the “surprise ending”). Burton replied (rather hautily), “I don’t read comic books.” To which Smith quipped, “Well, that explains “Batman.”

  3. Batman-The Musical
Wouldn’t Michael Crawford be great as the Joker? He is just finishing Dance of the Vampires which is done by the same guy who is doing the music for Batman the musical. Listen to his laugh at the end of All I Ask of You reprise on the phantom of the opera soundtrack. tell me it isnt great.
