Enterprise and Buffy return to St. Louis

Okay, so only about three readers will care about this,
but I’m one of those three. :-)

WHSL, channel 46, will be carrying Buffy The Vampire
Slayer
and Enterprise from now ’til April,
in the not-so-hot Friday night timeslot. (Hey, it’s better than the “musical chairs” timeslot they had last year.) Read
this article
for the long and sordid story of how they ended up on the Home Shopping Network.

  1. Good news, I think…
This is, hopefully, GOOD news… Watching Enterprise here the past year has been an adventure, missing the first few episodes on first run because it simply could not be found. The only way I was able to catch most of the episodes after that is because KPLR did a decent job of sending the myriad schedule updates to the schedule database Tivo uses… Even the local cable company schedules often had the wrong time.

And I had wondered how this situation came to be… Nixed by fundamentalists? Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

  2. Get the Dish!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I’m not trying to be a jerk but anyone who is still putting up with cable willingly instead of having the Dish or DirectTV is just plain stupid. Ok, I’ll just pretend they’re ignorant of their options. Yes some people can’t get satellite because of physical obstructions or lack of tenant rights but those are the only reasons for not being able to watch the WB or UPN shows at their regular times. In fact, with the packages you can get on the Dish Network system, you have multiple options as to when you watch your favorite WB and UPN shows. Please…Please…Please people, come out of the stone age of cable and pay the same monthly bill for much higher quality and more channels with satellite. (no digital cable is not as good as satellite)Arggghhh…I can’t believe people are still talking about not being able to get the WB and UPN. Come on, you aren’t that stupid, just think a little bit.

      Jerk. :-)

In the past apartment, it simply wasn’t available because, well, it was an apartment. Not that it mattered; the people at DirecTV said that since there’s no local UPN affiliate, they couldn’t give me any UPN channels.

Not to mention the fact that the latency on satellite Internet is just KILLER when you’re playing Quake 3.

And therein lies the true sin.

  3. A little more to the point this time
Ok, let’s keep to the subject here. The WB and UPN. How do you get those channels when you live in an area where they broadcast at very strange times if at all? Pretend that in my previous post I said nothing about DirectTv. Let’s pretend it doesn’t exist. The Dish Network is what you want. There is a programming package you can get with the main package you choose that will give you WB and UPN stations from NY, Denver and LA. It will solve all of your problems concerning Television programming. Note that I said nothing about use of the internet in the prior post or this one. I’m only discussing TV.

By the way…I live in an apartment building and I have the Dish Network and a roof top antennae.
