| Blaine: This is the 1997 animated film from Fox that was so well received patrons at the theatre I worked out refused to believe it wasn’t made by Disney. This is after they’d watched the logo at the start of the film, and after I’d even pointed to the company credits on the poster. They’d still insist I was wrong, because it was a good cartoon, and therefore could only have been Disney product. Oh, if only Paramount hadn’t driven the Fleischer studios into the ground… | ||

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “based on the strength of season one, I’m recommending Scarecrow and Mrs. King: Season Two.” Alex says, “On a similar basis, I’m recommending Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple.”
Saw “Firebreather” when it aired on Cartoon Network. Bad animation and an even worse storyline. Even my Seven-Year-Old was bored.
But you left out the important part: how mobile were the tongues?
Seriously, check out “Rugrats” and/or “Aeon Flux.” Peter Chung tongues flap like you wouldn’t believe.
The Riddick Collection is a strange box set. It includes both movies in Blu-ray, but has Dark Fury, the animated feature between them, in DVD. WTF? Why not have all of them in the same format?
At a guess? The animated feature was never rendered in high definition.
