  1. Wow!
Andromeda’s SFX guys worked overtime this week. I have never seen such an increadible display of arial combat in a T.V. show ever. This makes the space combat in Star Wars look like some 5 year old plaing with his toys.

OMG please tell me you’re being sarcastic. The flight sequences were a total mess.

Are you sure about that? I thought I saw a five year old’s hand holding the slipfighters during their moves over a few scenes. ROTF

  2. Title Translation…
…for those that are unaware. It is a play on a famous line from Shakspeare’s Julius Caesar that can also been found in the Shakespeare quote fest that is Star Trek VI. The quote is:

“Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.”

All I really got out of this eppisode, other than a sense of deja vu(1) what that Tyr doesn’t like slipfighters. Put him on the ground with a gun, and watch the scary, slightly crazy man have fun.

      (1) I identified that sense, just before writing this. It felt a lot like “Flight of the Intruder”

  3. Tyr & anxiety = does not compute
Anyone else have a problem with Tyr’s freak-out? I mean, this certainly isn’t the first time Tyr has been reluctant to engage in one of Dylan’s suicide missions, but he’s never been shaken to the point of screwing up before. I mean ok, so he doesn’t like slipfighters, but near-panic is beyond him; it’s literally not in his genes!

Personally I was hoping that this newfound insecurity would be tied back to the changes (no boneblades) in the dimensional rift; maybe he’s afraid that he’s not a true Nietzschean anymore? But no, we’ll never see another mention of it, since it was nothing but a cheesy ploy to save on their wardrobe/makeup budget…

I think that he was afraid of being un-Nietzchean by going on the mission. Nietzcheans hieracrchy of needs….
      1. Father and Protect Children
      2. Survive
      3. Win at costs except above

Every time he violates number two for Dylan and the Commonwealth by going on some sucide mission he loses part of his identity.

Not just that. Here they are making such a big deal about how hopeless it is to get through 5 levels of impregnable defenses, and Tyr’s totally insecure about their chances, and then they dance through a single laser system, a few fighters and a few ground troops around one of the most valuable military assets. Granted, for a show like this, you have to have the stars get through and back, but then you don’t make it out to be such an impossible task that when they succeed, it’s only with handwaving and “oh we’ll just pop back to the ship now that we blew up that most important site”. This episode was so unbelievable I almost swore off the show entirely.

  4. I wonder…
…where Kevin Sorbo et al stand on Bushie heading into Iraq? Maybe it was way too subtle, but I just couldn’t tell if this episode might have any comment on current foreign policy. Or maybe I was too dizzy from trying to make sense of the dogfight.
