Go Outside!

It what is probably our first (and only) public service announcement, we say: Go Outside! Get some fresh air. Turn off the computer.

More to the point: Go watch the Leonid meteor shower tonight. Experts predict it will be one of the most spectacular celestial events for quite a while.

[Update 11.18.2002-18:35 EST] Here’s a whole mess of info on the Leonids from SlashDot.

  1. which direction in the sky to look?
i see the charts for time periods (peaks at 5am here, ugh), but any idea if we should be looking north/south/east/west? i’d rather sit in my chair on my patio than wander around the apartment complex in the cold :)

That is not as simple of a question as it sounds. The answer is to look towards the constellation Leo. See this link for more details.

  2. I knew there had to be a catch
normally, our kind can’t stand the sunlight. I know I can’t. I see you mean “at night”… so it’s ok. ;)

  3. snow
Well, I think I won’t, seeing how all those coulds and snowflakes
might get in the way of the pretty falling stars…
