larq writes, According to Zap2it, Fox has ordered two more episodes of Firefly– so we’ll get to keep watching at least throuch December. Here’s their brief summary. Only two, after John Doe got a full season order? Not a good sign. It looks to me like they’re hedging their bets so that they’ll have new episodes available long enough to hit the days of mid-season replacements.
I’ll take whatI can get.
I was scheduling my TV recorder this afternoon when I noticed that Firefly had been pre-empted for Happy Gilmore. Considering that this was how I foud out that both The Lone Gunmen and The Tick had been cancelled, I had alread started kicking myself for getting attached to a show on FOX. Perhaps I’m an optimist, but I see two more episodes as two more episodes. Now, maybe if FOX advertised Firefly (like the blitz that they did for John Doe), we could get a whole new season.
Shiny!
But they should put in an order for two more years, not two more episodes. This is a much better show than John Doe. or the wretched Enterprise for that matter (May God have mercy on the souls of Berman and Braga – Enterprise had such potential.)
btw, anybody know where I can find a copy of the pilot? I’ve heard that it’s been seen in the wild, but I’ve had no luck finding it.
Re: Shiny!
If you’re looking for the original, unaired pilot, you may be happy to know that it’ll be broadcast on December 20.
Re: Shiny!
But is that the original pilot, or a hacked up two-parter? I was under the impression that they were going to re-edit the pilot, as with “The Menagerie” in ST:TOS.

Does anybody else think that the petition was worth exactly 2
episodes? : )
Oh man, I hope they don’t kill this show, its so good, and look at
Angel and Buffy, they were never this good their first season, and
now they’re running like wild.
