Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “I’ve only seen half the titles in the Buster Keaton set, but I can easily recommend it. Other notable titles I haven’t seen yet include the Doctor Who titles and Brazil.” Alex says, “Allison & Lillia Generation 2 and Doctor Who will definitely be going in my Netflix Queue.”
Funny thing, all last week I’ve been trying to remember the name of that terrible SciFi movie I saw when I was a kid, that I think had the guy from The A-Team in it. Then I look at the releases for next week and what do you know – Battle Beyond the Stars (; I guess I get to find out if it was as bad as I remember!
Battle Beyond the Stars, Roger Corman’s answer to Star Wars?
Yeah, it’s about that bad.
Still, that guy from the A-Team, Sybil Danning, and John-Boy Walton in space, plus a ship that looks like a diagram from a health text? Man, is this thing overdue for a Weekend Review here.
Of course, that’d mean someone would have to watch it again.
I, uh. Just watched it. I could write something up, rather than just shooting myself.
Jethro, if those are the options, I encourage you to write something and send it along. We’ll print it!
: )
Perhaps I will! Is there an established procedure? (:
Write something up according to our “Movie Review” format, and we’ll let you know where to send it!
Blaine– if you haven’t seen Brazil yet, what’s keeping ya?
Keaton looks good, but I don’t see any of the noteworthy films he did with Roscoe Arbuckle. I’m guessing that’s a separate rerelease.
I really want to see Brazil, it just hasn’t made its way to the top of my DVD queue. Yet another movie I wish Netflix had available for streaming…
Good GOD, man! MOVE IT TO THE TOP OF YOUR LIST RIGHT NOW.
And make sure you get the correct version. If it’s less than 2 hours long, it’s the wrong version and should be DESTROYED ASAP.
