“The X-Files” DVD season 9 and price drop today

Just a reminder, the final season of “The X-Files” is
out on DVD today, and it’s bringing a price drop on
all other seasons along with it. The sets still cost
more than your average TV on DVD product, but they’re
considerably cheaper than they were yesterday. (The
initial high price had two main reasons; it was the
first show to be released in full season packages in
a time when movies were still about $30, so they had
a higher price in that market, and because they’re
released in region 1 before region 2, unlike many
shows, so they couldn’t use overseas markets to
recover the DVD authoring costs. The prices stuck
around as long as fans were willing to pay that
much.)

Comic Review – “Essential Daredevil Vol. 2”

reviewed. Essential Tomb of Dracula Vol. 2
is out as well, to be followed in the next three
months by Essential X-Men Vol. 5,
Essential Spider-Man Vol. 6, and
Essential Avengers Vol. 4. It looks like
Marvel wants to release an Essential each month now,
which makes me very happy. (Rumours of more
Fantastic Four, and some Invaders and/or Defenders
stuff are about.)
