In an effort to be unbiased (because these ‘rumors’ are driving me nuts), here is an article from TrekToday.com with news regarding the next Star Trek series. I’m hoping these are wrong…really, really hoping. The continuity problems are just going to be a major headache.

Here’s your weekly bit of irony: The star of one of the best films of 2000 will be voicing a character from one of the worst films of 2000 (or ever).
How can such a terrible movie spawn a TV show AND a sequel? For those of you that believe in all that Scientology conspiracy stuff, file this under “See, we told you so!” I, for one, am keeping my child away from this one.

SciFi Wire has the full article about “3rd Rock From the Sun” ending on May 22nd.
“3rd Rock” has had an interesting run, but it is way past time to put the final nail in its coffin.

SciFi Wire has some bits about ST: Voyager’s Finale, “Endgame” (But no real spoilers).
None of it’s really surprising. The finale sounds a bit too much like “All Good Things…” but I’ll try to be optimistic.

Coming Attractions has it rumored and then confirmed. WWF wrestler, The Rock, is mulling over the role. Could be fun, he has a bit of a comical side (his cameo on DAG was really funny).
He may not be too bad, the producers of “The Mummy Returns” were so pleased with him on screen, they’ve green-lit another sequel, “The Scorpion King” based around his character.
I believe the next Duke game (Duke Nukem 4Ever) is still slated for release sometime after hell freezes over.

Well now that we’ve all had some fun with our ideas for what was the best Trek series, how about your ideas for what you think the next Trek series should be about.
We’ve all heard the rumors, but what would make really good and really fresh Star Trek. My opinion is listed in “Read More.”
Don’t worry about copyrights. I doubt Rick Berman reads our site!

StarTrek.com has put together a retrospective site for Voyager fans with episode guides, cast bios, and interviews.
After a review of the final episode, I’ll put up my own retrospective and encourage you all to share your thoughts on the last seven years of Voyager’s trip home.

A few days back, StarTrek.com posted a bit of info that may shed more light on the new series than Paramount may have intended. Michael Okuda has been named as Scenic Arts Supervisor. This probably means that we will be seeing a sequel to Voyager in the Star Trek timeline.
Okuda has been with the Star Trek franchise since 1986 and was responsible for quite a bit of TNG’s look and feel (including Geordi’s Visor).
This bodes well for the next series, but then, I may be reading too much into this. Any other thoughts?
