The new show premiered last night. What did you think?

Lucas Defends Star Wars DVD Changes
No real surprise that he’s defending it, but the article (from Sci-Fi Wire) does a good job of summing up the changes.
Star Trek Round-Up
Two articles from Sci-Fi Wire discussing the future of Star Trek. Both involve, your friend and mine, Rick Berman. First off, we have some Enterprise Season Four spoilers and second, more info on the not-linked-to-any-existing-series-so-why-should-we-care movie.
Brent Spiner to Guest on Enterprise
My guess is they’re hoping to inject some old-school magic back into the series. Guest appearences usually turn out some great ratings (and the eps aren’t too bad either).
Spiner will be playing an ancestor of Data’s creator, Dr. Noonien Soong. Spiner did triple-duty as Data, Lore, and Dr. Soong in the TNG ep “Brothers.”

Star Trek XI Details Leaked
You probably saw it on Slashdot, but here you go.
Romulan Wars? In a movie? Why not in the TV series? Or a Klingon war? Or anything that the fans are looking forward to?!?
And what’s with the “new crew/storyline” for a movie? Wouldn’t we gladly line up for a DS9 (or even a hodge-podge TNG/DS9/Voy) film?
Why am I talking in hyberbole?
Fantastic Four Cast Coming Together
Sci-Fi Wire has the details about the film, but it looks like Michael Chiklis (The Shield) will play Ben Grimm, Ioan Gruffudd (King Arthur, Horatio Hornblower), Reed Richards, and Chris Evans (Not Another Teen Movie) as Johnny Storm.
Jessica Alba (Dark Angel, Sin City) is the front-runner to play Sue Richards.
Note: I’m guessing at the Chris Evans mentioned in the article. There are four actors with that name in IMDB. The one I picked best matches the age needed for the role. Anyone have any better data, please post it.
James Doohan suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease
Recently, Mr. Doohan, most famous for immortalizing Montgomery “Scotty” Scott on the original Star Trek television show, announced that his next convention appearence will be his last. It has just recently been revealed that he’s been diagnosed with the brain disorder (he is also battling Parkinson’s and diabetes).
Our thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes to the D-Day veteran and his family.
It’s Official: “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince”
CNN has the full details. Apparently Rowling released the news on her website, though it took some digging to find.
According to the author, the title refers to neither Harry or Voldemort. Speculations? My guess is Hagred (the only half blood I can think of).
