Emmys won by sci-fi

y42 writes,
As seen on scifiwire,
a few technical emmys went to genre shows. My personnal
favourite:

Fox’s canceled SF western series Firefly
won the Emmy for outstanding special visual effects for a series,
for its pilot episode, “Serenity.”

That was
the only Emmy it was nominated for, and it won. The ceremony
for the major awards will be this weekend (I believe.)

MTV Has Spider-Man

I suppose we could
have said something when this started up about a month ago.
We forgot to mention Cartoon Network’s new Duck
Dodgers
cartoon, too, which has also been on the air a
few weeks. Canadian viewers can watch Duck
Dodgers
on Teletoon on Thursday nights, but I’m unaware
of any Canadian stations running the new Spider-Man.

Simpsons, Samurai Jack win Emmys

… and you thought the Emmys weren’t until next month. Well, most of them aren’t, but the “juried” Emmy awards (mostly technical stuff) have already been announced. Hank Azaria won his third Emmy for his work on The Simpsons, and the folks from Cartoon Network’s “Samurai Jack” won an award that I don’t even really know what it’s for. Details at CNN.
