This week is really abysmal. We’ve got a few good anime series and films this week (and a rare VHS release), but otherwise, it’s a weak week.

That is not a misprint. We have a new VHS release in 2015. This is a horror film about a woman who gets a job as a caretaker for an elderly woman – except the elderly woman is also a cannibal. |

This is, I believe, Sentai Filmworks first hybrid release. The DVD/Blu-Ray release comes with a chipboard case, a separate box for the extras, reversable covers for the amaray cases, a three-disk soundtrack, deck of playing cards, art prints, a poster, and stickers. |

Anime drama (with a very interesting art style) about a group of people who have the power to manipulate the wind. |

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “I haven’t seen anything terribly compelling this week, but the Lost Soul documentary about the 1995 Island of Dr. Moreau definitely has my attention.” Alex says, “The Lost Soul documentary also has my interest along with the MST3K collection.”
The Lost Souls documentary is also on Netflix.
I’m having trouble again with the Canadian links!
On another note: Kill, Granny, Kill. Yeah. I haven’t seen it, but there is an entire subgenre from the 1960s/early 70s, variously known as “Psycho Biddy” and “Grand Dame Guignol,” gothic tales about crazy old ladies. Could a revival be brewing? Because I, for one, would love to see a Psycho Biddy retrospect run somewhere.
I really enjoyed Justice League: Gods and Monsters. I mean, you had me at Hot Hispanic Badass Superman.
