Book Review – Black Blade

Continuing with catching up with the backlog, I have my review of the So-Bad-It’s-Horrible novel Black Blade by Eric Van Lustbader, which manages to enter the realm of Genre with its psychics and its Cyborg-Brain-In-A-Jar-McGuffin.

Notes: I don’t know if it comes across as exaggerating in the video, but seriously, the level of racism in this book is quite nuts. It goes beyond the Anti-Japan-Xenophobia of the late 80s and 90s (infatuation with the exoticism of Japan combined with the fear and hatred of the success of the bubble economy) – to stuff like the Evil Black Cop conspiracy, and every Japanese person in the US that is part of the story is also part of The Evil Japanese Corporate Conspiracy.
