  1. TV
Hmmm, 3 Mutant Enemy nominations (one per show) and 2 Enterprise
    nominations.

*knocks on wood* wish it will be Firefly! : )

  2. Let’s hope
That the Carbon Creek episode of Enterprise doesn’t win for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form. I can’t even believe that it was nominated – A Night in Sickbay I can kind of see, but let’s all hope that Serenity takes it, as if Enterprise wins a Hugo off of one of those two shows, nothing is ever going to convince B&B to change it (whereas a Firefly win might speed up those DVDs).

This is one Hugo Award vote that won’t be going to either Enterprise ep…. Perhaps I’ll have to catch Firefly somewhere before August.

I can’t see how either of those Enterprise episodes could make it, even if you liked them (which I did not) the show has no where near enough depth in characters or plot for me to consider it. I don’t recall which Angel that was and all the Firefly eps were good but it didn’t get enough time to develop to a point where it could produce a truely great dramatic episode. My vote goes to Conversations with dead people. It was by far the best Buffy episode this season in my opinion and was easily the best show of any series I’ve seen this year.

Yup, it was great! I can’t understand how Enterprise got any nominations at all… and those weren’t the best episodes either. Conversations with Dead People blows it right out of the sky though, not to mention Serenity and Waiting in the Wings…

  3. Speaking of Worldcon ???
Anyone here want to split a room in Toronto this Fall??

Maybe Someone at B42 should make a section somewhere for postings by people wanting to get together and/or share expenses at Worldcon this Autumn?

      Good idea.

My wife & I already have our room and the obligatory Friday Night guest, but I’d like to get together with B42 types who will be there (if only to find out what a TechnoGirl looks like or to be able to say, “hon, the angry mob is meeting us for drinks”)

Is Anyone else going to WorldCon this year (in toronto) ??

If so then i’d be happy to organize a B42 party or something like that.

  4. Stargate? Odyssey 5? Farscape?
Two nominations for Enterprise, but none for Stargate, Odyssey 5 or Farscape? More evidence for my theory that the world has gone totally insane!

Check out the movie nominations – “Harry Potter”, “Spriited Away” and “Spiderman”. All (well 2 out of 3) good movies but science fiction?? I don’t think so….

Sad thing is that the fans choose these things themselves…LOWEST common demoninator :(
