    Creepy

Man what a creepy episode (Especially the use of that little girl in the car, but hey it sends that villianous message that Jazzy’s been missing) It also was good to finally get to the root of what Jasmine is trying to accomplish because i was having a very hard time believing that she merely wanted to appease her ego as a master plan. Devouring the human race to accomplish some master plan, now thats much more sinister. Once again great acting by all and Charisma Carpenter what a great vegetable she makes. Hey anyone have any ideas what Jasmines name is? (cough Rumplestilskin cough) Im in suspense once more for the next episode this one was literally a cliffhanger ( Alright so what it was a corny joke big deal) P.S. i knew that the blue ball did something important.

Feel the creepy. Love the creepy.

Hey, can we just skip the Season 2 & 3 DVDs and get right to this Season? I wish I had been taping all along. :(

I love the truly alien looking other realm at the end. Loved seeing someone from Gunn’s old crew. Hated how chatty and human-sounding the demon thingy was. C’mon, Mutant Enemy, it worked with Skip, but enough of the funny, quippy demons.

If Jasmine has the Governor of California, and presumably the rest of the state as well, under her control, how does this fit with what’s going on in Sunnydale? That’s the problem with shared continuities, like in comics.

Wait for Nathan Fillion…he’ll make it all awright again!
Plus the First and the nameless devourer known to california as Jasmin
must be in cahoots, if they aren’t the same being.

Not necessarily. I’d be somewhat amused if our intrepid heroes were throughly creamed by these villains, only to watch them take each other out to avoid the competition.

I wonder, if they aren’t allied/the-same-thing, then does the First get to
eat the souls of the people Jasmin eats? Is she devouring the same
          “ressource” as the First?

But yeah, that would be entertaining: 2 god-like demony things fighting
each other…hand me the pop corn! : )

I, for one, will be really annoyed if the First and “Jasmine” have anything to do with one another!

“Jasmine” is an interesting, creepy, and believable villain; the First is lame, lame, lame. What exactly has the First done this season to deserve Big Bad status? Hmm… killed (or caused to be killed) a bunch of one-dimensional, underdeveloped characters we care nothing about, pranced around changing shapes and playing games with Spike and Caleb, taunted Andrew, showed Buffy some super-secret deleted scenes from the Lord of the Rings DVD, caused a handful of high schoolers to go crazy. Why am I not shaking in my boots? Heck, why is Buffy? Really, I would like to know. Personally, I just think the First has the best demon PR firms on his payroll.

The First would be an appetizer for the Devourer known as Jasmine.

Hate to reply to my own post, but I just thought of something while reading what I had written:

Jasmine is “the Devourer”… “From beneath you, it devours”… god, they better not be planning to bring the two plotlines together.

Hey, I never claimed to be a genius! ;)

But in all fairness (to myself), isn’t last night’s ep the first time they’ve referred to Jasmine as “the Devourer”? Or did I miss an earlier reference?

I agree with the first thing you said i’d hate it if the first and Jasmine are linked thru anything besides the fact that they’re both evil. But i think the first needs some more credit. That good demon PR payroll is more then enough reason for Buffy to shake her boots. Plus there’s no real info on the first i mean we think that it cant be corpereal but i doubt if thats the case with something that can control that many suped up baddies. I’m guessing it’ll take physical godly form by the last episode and although im guessing Buffy would sacrifice herself to kill it, id be happy if it transferred to Angel next season. If at least one of those scenarios doesnt happen i will be dissappointed. Plus i need at least one person to sacrifice themselves in order to be happy with a Buffy finale.

Anyway enough Buffy talk who thinks Cordelia will turn up soon and did i miss something or did they not explain why Connor was unaffected by the cure. Oh yea and someone else mentioned it already but anyone notice that Angel already went interdimensional? I’m not complaining it was a good ending just saying it seemed a little familiar.

The assumption I and others have made is that it’s because her blood is his blood, but likewise, that blood of Connors that Angel washed off into the water supply…

Actually, I hope they don’t go that route — there wasn’t enough there to really do the job.

But in any case, Cordy clearly got eaten to prevent her blood being used against Jasmine again. I’ll be really disappointed if they bring her back, but I’m half expecting the Final Solution to end up having Cordy take over from inside Jasmine, with some outside help to start the process or spur it on. But then maybe I don’t have enough faith in the people behind the scenes…

Its alright to assume but i wanted some damn concrete answers from the show itself. Damn those creative genuises and their withholding of facts! And of course any person knows Cordy was eaten but they didnt even show the process so now ur saying “Hey, she’s not eaten yet.” I mean if Cordy’s blood can be some kind of cure then eating her could have a negative effect on Jasmine along with a billion other things

(And now from the mind that brought you various conspiracy theories: Reasons Why Cordy Could Be Alive) Most likely She could be holding her as a lure to make sure Angel and the group come back. 2)By Cordy surviving the process of birth, her and Jasmine probably share some type of link that could cause a negative effect on Jazzy if severed by death. 3)Or Cordy and Connor might haveta stay alive in order for Jasmine to undergo some kind of transformation. . 4)Or maybe (this is the least likely) she just loves her mommy and daddy and doesnt want to see them go haha

      Kewl!

Yeah, maybe the blue orb opens a portal to a different dimension depending on the blood that activates it. And since Angel doesn’t have Wesley with him anymore, he’ll be stuck wandering through countless parallel worlds searching for a way home…

Wait what!!? The blue ball belonged to the spider guy because it lead back to his world. It didnt matter who’s blood woulda touched it its a portal from earth to spidermanland thats all. I’m just hoping u were being sarcastic and i didnt pick up on it

              Re: Was it just me…
Why is every one so against having a collaboration with Jasmine and The first? Personally I think it would be kewl. It would definitley add an extra oomph that’ll make B.T.V.S go out with a bang! Come on I mean at least it’ll be different. Buffy’s been on the air for seven seasons. The sacrafices, deaths, battles .. its all been done at least once before. Of course if it doesn’t happen then I just both the season finales of Buffy and Angel will be creative and some what original.
The First isn’t corporeal. It can’t actually touch things . Can it?
So how can it be a big bad serial killer everyones claiming it should be? The whole idea behind him is supposed to be scary. I just think Jasmines creepy. Although I’m pretty sure I missed this episode. when was it aired?
              TTFN
p.s what are sliders? Um should I know…?

              • Gcdh says:

                Re: Was it just me…

Sliders was an old sci-fi show where these people went dimension to dimension solving random problems so no you dont really haveta know what Sliders is.

And the fact of the matter is that Buffy already has the extra oomph it needs by bringing in the preacher dude and having him decimate Buffy and her forces. With four episodes left, to bring in someone like Jasmine would be a ridiculous overflow of bad guys and probably take away from the oomph you were talking about. Not only that, but you would haveta waste at least two episode in Buffy by hypnotizing and then curing Buffy and the Scoobs and Buffy doesnt have two episodes to waste.

Now you haveta go back and see what you did to Angel. You just took away the shows big bad and you just lost a whole season of build-up and it would be a shame for Buffy and the Scoobs to be the ones to beat Jasmine after all the things Angel and his crew went through. Also, as my last point i will explain why Jasmine and the first can never be the same thing EVER! The first has been said to have a true face and after all the wondering and imagining what the most powerful evil in the world looks like it would be the biggest let-down of all time to see Jasmines face. I’m feeling bad about being a total downpour on the Jasmine/First thing so ill jus say that if they had one more season on Buffy and if the first wasnt already the big bad then it would be real cool to have Jasmine cross-over on the shows and maybe work with the first.

  4. Gcdh says:

    I forgot to mention
There is one cross-over that could work fine. If you use a couple of days in the Buffy timeline then Angel and possibly some of his crew can come over. There will have been time to have Angel kill Jasmine because the episodes in Angel take place one after the other while those in Buffy sometimes have a day or so between them. Since Buffy and the Scoobs are getting their asses handed to ’em the added muscle would be a good thing to see and with the role Angel played in the developement of Buffy it would be a shame for him not to arrive in the last episodes of Buffy.

Thoose are some good points. Do you really think Caleb’s scary? I don’t I fell like we’ve seen characters like him before. When is the season finale of Angel?
