Blaine: Luis Bunuel’s final film. He was prone to experimentation. This time around, he tried using two different actresses to play the same role. I’ve seen theories that the two actresses are supposed to represent two different mindsets for the character, but none of them seem to hold up under scrutiny.

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “I’d go with the Die Hard collection this week.” Alex says, “I’m putting Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 on my to-watch list (along with Part 1).”
Flight of the Navigator is a definite buy, but the price tag is a bit high for some reason.
Also since a new Die Hard film is coming out, I find it hard to consider buying a box set of the old ones, when there will inevitably be a new box set coming later that will include the next one. Though at that price for for films (approx. the same as just the price of FotN alone!), it is a bit tempting.
My wife and I argue every year about whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Of course it is.
Yeah, I took a look at the Superheroes Must Die movie on Amazon, thinking it might be interesting, but all those bad reviews changed my mind pretty quickly.
I tried to find some reviews of it, but apparently the film was first screened under the incredibly generic title of “Vs.” which made it incredibly difficult for me to find any reviews of it when it was doing the roadshow/film festival thing.
As it is, the premise makes it sound like a superhero/supervillain version of Saw – which is not promising.

I’m with you. Die Hard and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians are the two movies I watch every year like clockwork.
And yet, no love for All Superheroes Must Die…. Seriously, has anyone actually seen this yet? I have not had the pleasure; it sounds awful.
Also, it’s interesting to see the Blu-Ray of White Zombie, which we reviewed just last October as part of our Halloween Countdown.
