DC Television Week 12 Discussion

Our Dear Comic based shows today bring us Lucifer getting married, but not to who you’d expect.  Supergirl works for exactly what you’d expect.  The Flash figures the only way it can get campier is to go smaller.  Black Lightning buries last week’s victims.  The Legends are still stuck in tomorrow, and Arrow goes all in.

Lucifer – S03E13 – Til Death Do Us PartWhen an ecstasy cook-turned-chemistry-teacher is found murdered in a cozy Los Angeles suburb, Lucifer and Pierce must go undercover to help track down the killer. Meanwhile, Maze has a newfound attraction for someone that she used to despise and Charlotte has a revelation.

Supergirl – S03E12 – For Good Someone tries to kill Morgan Edge and he barely survives. He accuses Lena of being behind the attempt and vows to destroy her. When Lena fears her hatred for Morgan will take her to the Luthor dark side, Kara steps in to help her friend. Meanwhile, after Sam realizes she’s losing time, she confides in Alex who decides to run some medical tests to see if she can find out what’s going on with her new friend.

The Flash – S04E12 – Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash A meta who can shrink anything he touches battles Team Flash. Cisco and Ralph get caught in his crossfire and are shrunk to miniature versions of themselves. Cecile realizes her pregnancy has caused her to have temporary powers and discovers she can hear other people’s thoughts, which unnerves Joe. Meanwhile, Barry meets someone with a mysterious connection to Henry Allen.

Black Lightning – S01E03 – LaWanda: The Book of Burial – As Jefferson Pierce tries to determine if the community can survive without the help of Black Lightning, Anissa starts to come into her own. Meanwhile, Jefferson and Lynn try and figure out their new dynamic. Finally, Jennifer reveals to her parents that she has been grappling with something big.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – S03E10 – Daddy Darhkest – This is due February 12th.

Arrow – S06E12 – All for Nothing – Oliver continues his battle with Cayden James. Dinah and Oliver have a major disagreement that endangers the life of one of their own.

  1. I found Lucifer was amazing. They took every chance to go straight towards the over-the-top direction, but each time seemed to turn it into something awesome, from his source for the E dealer, Lucifer’s hallway scene, to how well played the marriage scene was done, it won me over at each moment.

  2. I still haven’t seen Black Lightning, which I gather is played a little more seriously than the other DC superhero shows.

    The Flash this week was a great deal of silliness leading to an interesting cliffhanger.

    In the context of the series, Wally remains conspicuously absent.
