Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood: It’s a Beautiful Day
Amazon
  • DVD: US, CAN
Comments Alex: Fred Rogers would have been 90 years old this year. Sadly, the description doesn’t say which episodes are in this collection. I’d hope they have the appearances by Lou Ferrigno and Bill Bixby (both in the sense of seeing behind the scenes of the Incredible Hulk, but also for the conversation about getting angry), or Yo Yo Ma’s appearance on the show. (I think Itzhak Perlman was on the show as well, but I can’t remember when.)

Comments Alex: Fanservicey anime series. The manga was released by DC’s short-lived Marvel brand, but it didn’t sell well due to some backlash over some censorship of the more risque elements that came across as a little excessive (especially considering the show kinda wears its fanservice on its sleeve).

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, ” I’m having trouble narrowing down my picks – Wrestling fans will like the Nature Boy documentary, Parents should absolutely have the Mister Rogers Neighborhood collection, and fans of anime and animation in general should get Robot Carnival on Blu-Ray.” Blaine says, “none of the first time releases catch my eye, but the rereleases of Outer Limits, Batman (1966), and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are all worth checking out.”
