  1. Fantastic, nay Incredible
I think we just got a taste of what kind of movies we can expect from Pixar once their indentured servitude to Disney is over with: lots more plot for the adults. I don’t want to lay a lot of spoilers, so I’ll leave it at that. This movie has loads of appeal for the parents and lots of action for the kids with a character for everyone to relate to. It’s digital perfection from Pixar.

One little thing: no appearance by the Pizza Planet truck that I saw. Though John Ratzenberger has a cameo, so that’s all right then.

  2. Excellent movie
The Incredibles was excellent. Pixar really can’t do wrong can they? It goes without saying that the animation was superb. But the story was fanastic, the characters were great, it really made you care about the family. I laughed, I got teary eyed. It was brilliant. I can’t wait until Pixar gets out from under the weight of Disney. I can’t help but think they are holding them back from their full potential.

I don’t know, I think Cars is going to test that theory.

Every movie since Toy Story has been testing that, they keep getting excellent scores. Straight A’s.

I don’t agree… Cars is the first Pixar movie where I’ve seen the
trailer and thought that I might not want to see it. I hope I’m wrong.

It took 6 guys to drag me to see Monsters Inc. I went back twice and I have the DVD.

Ok, so they were engineering students, so quite weak physically, but the trailers had me sure it was gonna suck. And it didn’t, far from it in fact.

  3. For Adults mostly
I think this was firmly targeted at adults, with the kids as an add on.

My daughter loves the other pixar films, watches them religiously almost. But halfway through the film she was walking around the rows playing with the chairs.

Dad however told her to sit down and leave him alone because he was enthralled. Great story premise, and they really did well. It drug down a little bit here and there but overall was a great film. And by Drug Down I mean it just seemed to stall for a bit, then take right back off. kinda like the peak of a roller coaster hill where you slow down just slightly.

Where I saw it there were ads for many, many tnings before the movie, one of which was an ad for some action movie. It got some of the kids in the theatre scared and whining to leave for a while.

Stupid movie theatres and their scary ads for stupid movies shown to roomfulls of small children!
