Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning April 30th

To start with, the universe expands again as DC has decided to start their own streaming service, and will be starting with Swamp Thing.  The existing shows continue unabated and show no signs of Dropping Coverage of their defined corners. Lucifer’s ladies enjoy a bachelorette party, Supergirl does Outbreak, The Flash guest stars Cisco’s girlfriend, Supergrandpa continues the dystopia of Krypton, and Oliver starts to recognize how useless a quiver of one is.

The House of Ideas gives us a heartbreaking return to corporeality on Legion and the Agents goes back to aliens.  Allegiances shift in Riverdale so the “Archie” relations become even less recognizable.

  1. Supergirl: Maybe I am watching too many Cinema Sins, but I keep hearing a “ding” every time they resort to lazy writing. “The last thing we need is panic” **Sounds of panic outside** “We put a tracker on that frequency, so the next time it-” **Tracker system goes off**

Lucifer seems to be the best bet of all the CW shows.

Legion remains as trippy as ever, but at least seems to be moving the story forward, and they’re keeping alive the comic tradition of never letting anyone popular die.

    • Yeah. They take some “interesting” liberties with the way the world works on Riverdale.

  2. Arrow used something of a Deus ex Machina to sort out the trial. But at least this specific one has prior precedent on the show. And points for that familiar face returning in a way that doesn’t cheapen previous appearances.
