Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “As as someone who likes a lot of the DC animated work, the Batman 80th Anniversary Collection is definitely worth picking up – while some films are not great (The Killing Joke), they are outweighed by the other excellent films in the collection.” Blaine says, “of these, I would pick Batman (1989), but I also wouldn’t have a problem with waiting a few weeks for the great TV product that’s on the way.”
I finally got around to watching Dark Phoenix, but it did not impress me.
MIB: International was kind of entertaining, but wasn’t anything I needed to see in a theater, either.
At least, as a genre, the stuff we have to watch isn’t insultingly bad to passable anymore, it’s a question of whether it’s adequate or excellent. (Ignoring the DCEU.)
