Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 22 September 2019

Even with the official start to fall this week with the equinox, the late-late-late-not-quite-fall-season television offerings are still sparse.  We go get the return of The Good Doctor where Murphy goes on a date.  Alfred plots assassination, and on Preacher there is a theater event to end all theater events1.  Meanwhile2, at camp in in 1984, American Horror Story brights out an evil monster.  While we don’t get a proper description of what happens on Titans, the name “Aqualad” probably tells us all we need to know.

[All synopses (and titles) from Trakt.tv below the cut, except when there really aren’t any.  (If a show’s synopsis is a spoiler to you, do not click More…)]

Pennyworth – S01E09 – Alma Cogan – Alfred, Thomas and Martha become entangled in an assassination plot against Lord Harwood.

Preacher – S04E09 – Overture – Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy mount one final assault on Masada as the Apocalypse Revue begins

The Good Doctor – S03E01 – Disaster – Following what he believes was a disastrous first date with Carly, Dr. Shaun Murphy proposes a radical surgery to save a newlywed woman’s life. Meanwhile, after the new chief of surgery, Dr. Audrey Lim, announces that the residents can lead surgeries, Dr. Morgan Reznick and Dr. Alex Park compete for the chance to operate on an elderly patient who has been diagnosed with cancer.

American Horror Story: 1984 – S09E02 – Mr. Jingles – Darkness descends upon the camp. Although it’s lights out, evil has no curfew.

Titans – S02E03 – Aqualad – [No description given.]

1 [Editor’s Note] I don’t watch Preacher.  Is Apocalypse Review a real theater troop show that is also the end of the world?
2 [Editor’s Note] Is it “Meanwhile” if it takes place 35 years ago?

  1. The DC CW shows have a Crisis in the works, and we’re going to see a significant crossover in a couple of months.

Tom Welling and Erica Durance will even be appearing as the Smallville-verse’s Superman and Lois.

    Chloe, however, is unavailable.

      • That link mentions Kristin Kreuk and then fails to note she attended some course at Mack’s invitation and soon parted company, without knowing the full extent of just how twisted that group got. Kreuk currently stars in the Canadian series Burden of Truth, which the CW is picking up next year.
