Comments | This is a spiritual sequel to the original Ultra Q series, which Ultraman came out of. It looks like the new series stylistically takes a few more cues from The X-Files, while the original series was more inspired by American horror anthology series like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. | ||||||||

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “I’m going with the Armored Trooper VOTOMS collection this time – it’s got all of the franchise (except for Mellowlink) to date, and frankly I really enjoyed the original series.” Blaine says, “I would say the best product on this list is the complete CSI: Crime Scene Investigations“.
American Experience seems to do best when they’re profiling events, rather than individuals. Those docs are good, but tend to gloss over the subject a bit.
The ’62 Hammer Phantom of the Opera isn’t the best, but it does feature Herbert Lom and a future Doctor Who.
I only saw maybe one ep of Tales from the Darkside back in the day. Is it worth seeing?
And yeah– that Thor cover is trying very hard to be mistaken for a Marvel product while keeping just to the legal side of copyright infringement.
I was surprised to see that CSI finished, I thought that was going to be one of those series that was just always on TV, like NCIS pr 60 minutes.
Also, the Thor: End of Days looks like the sort of thing that a legal department shows to executive to convince them not to base intellectual properties on public domain concepts.
