Comments | Blaine: I was working in a movie theatre when this came out. Audiences did not care for it. I only saw pieces of it, but I saw enough to see things like riders on motorcycles in a tunnel for close-up shots that are rendered in open air for the cheap CGI longshots. The IMDB score of 2.5/10 should land it in the IMDB bottom 50 (which has ratings from 1.1 to 3.1), but I don’t see it listed there for some reason. | ||||||||

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “I really like In/Spectre as an anime series, and definitely recommend picking that up. That said, for those who are less into anime, and have the ability to play 4K disks, we do have the 4K releases of Vertigo and Rear Window.” Blaine says, “while Rear Window is easily my top pick, since I think it’s Hitchcock’s best film, I can’t deny the appeal of Vertigo or the Star Trek movies. I also will definitely be checking out Zack Snyder’s Justice League, because a movie made by a single director with the freedom to hit the four hour mark is bound to be better than what we got, even if I’d probably prefer a four hour version from Joss Whedon, as damaged as he is as a person.”
Some interesting collections, but the only one that seems like it should be a collection the way it’s being offered is Harry Potter.
I haven’t seen Rear Window or Vertigo, and the more I hear the name the more that is making me sad.
I also didn’t see Snyder’s Justice League, and I was avoiding it. Blaine’s commends regarding Joss articulate my thoughts better than I think I could. Maybe he and I can start a review podcast called “Well, I guess I gotta…” and watch movies that are really popular but that we weren’t really interested in seeing. 😆
I’m going to guess Star Trek V and VI aren’t yet ready for the 4K release, so they jumped in early to score some money and then will release the other two when they’re done.
I just got a nice new TV, so I’m pumped to watch these all in glorious 4K.
