Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “On the 4K front, I’m going with Coraline or ParaNorman (depending on which you prefer) – as much as I like Highlander, I’ve enjoyed Laika’s work more. Otherwise, nothing quite grabs me this week.” Blaine says, “my pick is The Power of the Doctor, the last story for Jodie Whittaker, for now.”

One reply

  1. Woman King looks good. Plus, I like supporting female-led action flicks.

My wife was a fan of the original Sex and the City, but we haven’t watched any of the new series. I think after that second movie (what a stinker), she lost any interest in the characters.

Silent Running should be on every Sci-Fi nerd’s watchlist. If you haven’t seen it, go now. Just go.

Reacher was possibly one of the most accurate book-to-film adaptations I’ve ever seen. I just read The Killing Floor last year, so it was fresh in my head when the series came out. It’s not high art, but it nails virtually all the beats of the book. (And seriously, whoever thought Tom Cruise could play Jack Reacher was an idiot. His size is one of the character’s defining features.)
