Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “I’ll be replacing my current Blu-Ray of Iron Monkey without Harvey Weinstein’s unnecessary and unneeded alterations.” Blaine says, “nothing I’ve seen jumps out at me, but 3 Days of the Condor and The Fabelmans are both on my ‘must watch’ list.”
Strange World was good. Not great, but I appreciate Disney Animation diving into a Sci-Fi for a change. I would love to see them do that more often and introduce kids to Sci-Fi that’s not just spaceships and lasers.
The release of Romeo & Juliet right now is, as the kids would say, “Sus”. I’m guessing the studio wants to milk it for a few last pennies before it (potentially) gets shelved.
The release of Romeo and Juliet is by the Criterion Collection. It was announced over a year ago. It takes, on average, 2-3 for them to put together the bonus features they are known for. In this particular case, the timing is entirely coincidental.
