Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “If you’re only getting the ‘really good’ Mission Impossible movies on 4K, I’d recommend picking up Ghost Protocol (if you hadn’t gotten the previous 4K bundle). Otherwise I’d give this week a miss.” Blaine says, “if you already have your Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies, those are worth looking at, especially the one that wasn’t made by a modern and outspoken transphobe.”

While Are you Afraid of the Dark? doesn’t rank with Tolkien adaptations and it doesn’t have the widespread popularity of Potter, the original series was entertaining for younger viewers and had a certain cleverness, and I’ve heard (pretty consistently) that the revived series, up this month, holds up to its predecessor though is a little darker.

    And I have a morbid curiosity about Renfield that I will eventually assuage, probably to my detriment.
