Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “If you don’t already own one of the earlier the 4K Universal Monsters collections, I’d recommend picking that up – otherwise I’d go with The Long Good Friday on the UHD front. On the anime side, I do like this collection of Ya Boy Kongming, and I’ve heard good things about the Ultimate Cut of Caligula – that it’s just a considerably better film than the earlier releases.” Blaine says, “of the titles I’ve seen, I’d go with the early seasons of Elementary. I was really enjoying it, but got busy and didn’t get back to it after a summer break. I really should do so. If you prefer physical media, I’d go with a Buster Keaton title.”

One reply

  1. Reacher Season One was a solid book-to-screen adaptation. I enjoyed Season Two, but didn’t read the book it’s based on.

Admittedly, Jack Reacher books are far from “high art”, but they were enjoyable.
