Weekly New Releases – November 26, 2024

I apologize for how late this is, but a sick toddler will always take priority. Also, this is a good week for fans for Norwegian streaming content.

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “On the 4K front, I’m going with the Alfred Hitchcock collection. Otherwise, Giant Gorg and the third Shawscope collection have absolutely grabbed my interest (especially considering some of those films have been out-of-print for a while).” Blaine says, “I also recommend the Alfred Hitchcock collection.”

  1. Seems like a lot of series are showing up in the listing now.
Elvira caught my attention as a fan of the Mistress of the Dark, and I thought I missed some series, but no. We’ve gotten to the point where that name can be used again, apparently, as this is as series. The description looks like it’d be a hilarious show if it was from the Cassandra, but it’s a drama:
Elvira works as a receptionist in a brothel run by the policeman and childhood friend, Køster. When a prostitute disappears, Elvira begins to investigate, which leads to dramatic consequences.

Unrelated to that (but to the recommendations,) I finally watched Vertigo. Decent film, but I was surprised by Midge, which was the most delightful character, and then she disappears halfway through the movie and had nothing to do with it other than give Jimmy Steward someone to exposite to.
