Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “Log Horizon remains one of the best isekai anime in the genre, so all 3 seasons getting a re-release makes for a firm anime recommendation. As far as other releases go, I’m going with Jon Pertwee’s first season on Blu-Ray (if you don’t already have it, as I believe this is a re-release), or Brazil as this week’s UHD release.” Blaine says, “I’m also going with Doctor Who, although I was very pleasantly surprised by Bill and Ted Face the Music, so that is a serious contender.”

  1. Life Stinks is that Mel Brooks film that no one seems to talk about (good or bad). I saw it in the theaters, but I honestly couldn’t tell you much about it. I have a 12 movie Mel Brooks Blu-Ray set and I don’t think it’s even in there.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is exactly what you’d expect it to be. Enjoyed the first two movies? You’ll like it as well. Didn’t like them? Don’t bother going into the third.

    • Life Stinks was the first Mel Brooks movie that… kinda disappointed me. I too saw it in the theatres when it came out and I remember the one time I laughed. This was his follow-up to Spaceballs which, to teenage-me, was his crowning achievement.

I probably should rewatch it. I’m more receptive to serious movies with a tinge of comedy nowadays.

      • A fair point. I wonder what adult Brian would think of it versus 16 year old Brian. I know I’m way more tolerant when a creator goes outside their “norm” than I was back then.

        Hmmmm.
