Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “My UHD pick for this week is Jaws, for pretty clear reasons. Otherwise, if you’re getting My Hero Academia physically, get the first part of season 7, or just get the Looney Tunes collection.” Blaine says, “I would also go with Jaws, or possibly Murder, She Wrote.”

  1. Because this site is having a bunch of Babylon 5 content right now, I wanted to mention that JMS, the creator and majority writer of that show was also a writer on Murder, She Wrote.

I also recommend everyone get the Looney Tunes thing because that’s the kind of content that is constantly being pulled from streaming services… physical media is still a good idea.

      • I didn’t start that podcast because I didn’t start Babylon 5.

I’m now two season in to Babylon 5 and I realized I just passed where you were in the podcast. 😆

(I am going to finish the series before I go back for the podcasts, though.)

    • They all mock my DVD library, but who will be laughing when the apocalypse comes? WHO?!

But seriously, it’s the same price for physical media as it is for digital AND the they usually include a code for a digital copy.

I keep meaning to get a Plex server up and running but I keep getting distracted.

      • Plex has become one of the Bad Guys recently (I always thought it was so I never used it) but there are many other options.

        • Honestly, I might just rip them all to a big USB drive and plug that into my smart TV. That’s the simplest, cheapest answer.

          • My home setup is a home server (her name is Chance) with lots of storage and Kodi running on devices throughout the house. I’d be happy to relay the setup and methods if anyone wants to duplicate it.

  2. I remember DeepStar Six. There was a spate of these films in the late 90s. DeepStar Six, Leviathan, and The Abyss (obviously, that last one had a much different vibe).
